"We are proud and honoured to sing John Lennon's song "Hold On". Our will is that his powerful message of peace keeps spreading around the world through Amnesty"
- Carole Facal and Doriane Fabreg, Dobacaracol
Montreal-based DOBACARACOL is a six-member world-music group with beautiful harmonies and a unique blend of African, reggae, pop and funk influences. They topped the charts in Quebec and Canada with their album "Soley" in 2005. The group is centred around two female lead singers, Carole Facal and Doriane Fabreg, and has developed a following in Europe, Africa, Australia, Mexico, the U.S.A., and Japan.
In 2005, Dobacaracol performed at the "LIVE 8" concert in Ontario, alongside other top Canadian acts such as Bryan Adams, Barenaked Ladies, Blue Rodeo and Neil Young.
Make Some Noise is Dobacaracol's second project for Amnesty International. In 2004, Carole and Doriane took part in the 35th anniversary celebrations of John and Yoko's 1969 "Bed-in for Peace" in Montreal, organised by Amnesty with the support of Yoko Ono.
