Video submission FAQ

- How long should my video be?
It depends on whether you are planning on blowing a raspberry or are working on a full screenplay. Best keep it short and sweet, under 60 seconds.

- What noise(s) can I record?
This is pretty much open, whether you need props or musical instruments, or are happy to just clap and scream, this is up to you!

- Can I sing a song I've written?
We are after noises rather than (protest) songs, however musical instruments are welcome and so is your vocal contribution!

- Can I sing an existing song?
For copyrights reason, this is not possible. Also, how much do you enjoy watching your dad or little sister karaoke? There you see. Your video has got to be compelling to as many people as possible!

- Can I talk about an issue that is dear to my heart (Guantanamo Bay, Darfur, Freedom of expression on the Internet, Violence against Women...)?
You will be able to do so in future campaigns (so watch this space!), but this particular one is plain simple: JUST MAKE SOME NOISE!!

- Do you screen content?
We do abide to YouTube's terms of use, and will not accept any videos that are "unlawful, obscene, defamatory, libelous, threatening, pornographic, harassing, hateful, racially or ethnically offensive, or encourage conduct that would be considered a criminal offense, give rise to civil liability, violate any law, or are otherwise inappropriate"

- How will my video be used?
The video will be posted on the Make Some Noise YouTube group page, and syndicated onto the MAKE SOME NOISE network of sites (amnesty.org/noise). Make Some Noise is a global venture by Amnesty International that mixes music, celebration and action to protect individuals wherever freedom, justice and equality are denied.
