Add a blue helmet to protect Darfur
"Today in Darfur, Sudan, widespread atrocities based on prejudice, hate and injustice are taking place out of the public eye.  Take action now with Amnesty International"
- Don Cheadle, Actor

In response to attacks in 2003 by an armed group, the government of Sudan armed and supported Janjawid militias to forcibly displace people in Darfur.  In May 2006, the Sudanese Government and one rebel faction signed a peace agreement.

But since then, violence has actually increased, and the African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS) is unable to protect people effectively.

Today the UN is in a unique position to pressurize the Sudanese government and get its blue helmets on the ground to protect civilians. It is time to send a message to the UN: less talk, more noise, more action!

Over 9,000 of you have already emailed the Sudanese authorities demanding justice for the women of Darfur. Today, we need 23,000 signatures, one for each UN peacekeeper needed in Sudan.  So sign our petition and put your blue helmet on the map!
